For the first time in seven years, Play the Game will hold its international conference on its Danish home turf. Danish sports bodies have responded with broad support

While launching the first programme overview for Play the Game 2022 in June, the organisers stress that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has provoked shifts in the priorities of the conference.

Thanks to support from the Danish Union of Journalists, the Norwegian Union of Journalists and Danish sports organisations, Play the Game offers a limited number of conference grants for media professionals, academic researchers, and others from less privileged countries.

The Sport & Society Research Network offers academic researchers attending the 2022 Play the Game conference a discount on the registration price for their 2022 annual conference that will take place at Aarhus University in Denmark on 30 June and 1 July.

For its 25th anniversary conference, Play the Game invites you to engage in open, fact-based and constructive debates on themes that are essential to the future of sport. The abstract submission for Play the Game 2022 is now open.

Odense, Denmark’s third largest city and home of leading sports and journalism university departments, has offered free conference facilities for Play the Game’s next conference. The event is organised next to a Tour de France stage and one of Europe’s biggest sports festivals.
